Red Pashmina
At Home

At home, Red Pashmina Inc. recognizes and celebrates the trials and triumphs of local women through our Women of Impact and Young Women of Impact initiatives

Over 100 community members have been nominated by residents and organizations during past campaigns, with the goal of connecting, uplifting and inspiring a diversity of women while emphasizing their commonalities and solidarity with women in Afghanistan and throughout the world

In partnership with the New Canadians Centre’s Sewing Collective, and through connections with other Afghan artisans in our community, we have supported local newcomer women by employing them in the manufacture of a selection of our products
Red Pashmina has also been able to make significant monetary donations to the Centre, including $4,460 to aid Syrian refugee resettlement locally in 2015.
We are committed to supporting the settlement of Afghan refugees locally, and beyond.

In the near future, Red Pashmina plans to extend an invitation to local organizations, agencies and individuals to nominate women for its Women of Impact Award, and to nominate women under 30 for its Young Women of Impact Award. The award occasion will be held as the wrap-up event of our 10th anniversary recognitions. Stay tuned for details!
Red Pashmina Inc. hopes to encourage and enable women across their many diversities, while fostering both a local and global community of solidarity and shared growth.
