SOLO WALK

As it did with every other aspect of our lives, the pandemic of 2020 also left a major impact on Red Pashmina Inc.

The events in which we normally participate and fundraise each year were cancelled. All except, that is, for the Red Pashmina Walk, which was once again organized and led by the capable and dedicated women of the Peterborough Chapter of Canadian Women For Women in Afghanistan (CW4WAfghan).

On May 9 (Mother’s Day), we held a quite successful Red Pashmina ‘Solo’ Walk which raised $3,000 in addition to some donations sent directly to CW4WAfghan. Held in the midst of a chilly springtime, Tina’s report on her walk described it well:
I finished my Red Pashmina Solo Walk. It took 1 hour – to Lock 19 and back, we went through 2 snow squalls but also some sun. We were new to Covid at that time so were very pleased that it all went off so well. We were also delighted to hear that Victoria (BC) held their first Red Pashmina Walk and are planning another in 2021!
